ENGINEERING INTERN

The City of Lockport is seeking a Summer Intern to assist in the Engineering Department. We are looking for someone that will be able to work approximately 40 hours per week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The position will assist Engineering staff with grading plan review, construction inspection, documentation, drafting, surveying, GIS data collection and other tasks as assigned. The desired candidate should have coursework in math, construction management, engineering or other related fields. The desired candidate should also be proficient in Microsoft office with CAD and surveying experience a plus.

This position will be an hourly position with an hourly rate of $8.50 -$12 per hour DOQ.  This position will be a non-union, non-exempt position reporting to the City Engineer. Candidates must have a valid drivers license and be authorized to work in the United States. Also, the ability to work in all weather conditions is required.

 Outstanding interpersonal skills are required.
